Graduated Wake Forest University with Bachelors in Fine Art. Early on work related experiences included technical illustration, printing, computer graphics, and multimedia programming. In around 2002 I began doing charcoal portraits and exploring soft pastels. Purchased the book Eternal Truths for Every Artist, by Harley Brown. Studied it every day and still refer to it to this day. Took pastel workshop with Kevin Beck. Painted or sketched every day I could. Modeled my signature after Wolf Kahn’s (first initial & last name). I liked the simplicity of it and wanted to be able to reproduce it easily with pastel. I continued my pastel painting career by attending art workshops by recognized professionals in the industry. It was then that I started participating in outdoor art festivals. Art festivals became my primary way to support my family. In 2006 began teaching a few lessons to local students around town. Met most students through the art festivals. People wanted to learn how to paint like I was painting. TODAY I’m enjoying the role of a ‘traveling artist’ by traveling the country creating fine art during fine art invitationals/festivals, teaching workshops.
