“Banana Leaf” by Pegge Hopper

$50.00

Pegge Hopper has lived and painted while living in Los Angeles, New York, and Milan-Italy.  She moved to Honolulu in 1963 and after visiting the State Archives and seeing old photographs of native Hawaiians, she was inspired to paint truly ‘eye catching’ images highlighting their stature and warmth.  She helped shape the world’s view of Hawai’i. Her most famous paintings feature cool, design centered compositions of women, mostly Hawaiian women, and large areas of flat color.
