“Lahaina Canoe Club” by Pierre Bouret

Pierre Bouret, from Kauai, and many of his fellow plein air artists enjoy painting the sweeping ocean views that include coastline palm trees and colorful canoes.  The Hanakao’o Beach Park in West Maui is home to the Lahaina Canoe Club.  It is the first canoe club founded on the Westside of Maui back in 1971. Only fifty-plus feet from the ocean it is a perfect location for launching canoes for pleasure or regattas. The coastline park stretches for a mile or so providing a wonderful sand walkway, beautiful vistas, loads of grass and birds, and if you are lucky you might catch a rainbow.
